The next time Paul Heyman introduces a client on WWE television, it will not be for the “King of Swing” Cesaro. A name you will hear will be followed by, “he conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at WrestleMania.” That gargantuan man is Brock Lesnar.
Brock Lesnar’s WWE return has been rumored for months, spoiled online, and there’s already insight on the specific match he will be partaking in at the next WWE pay-per-view, SummerSlam. Now, WrestleZone is offering an official date of his WWE return.
Brock Lesnar’s official return date is scheduled for next Monday, July 21st. There is still the possibility that he makes an appearance at Sunday’s WWE Battleground PPV, but he will definitely be on Raw the following night to begin the road to SummerSlam.
July 21 is one day after Battleground, and the WWE already is capitalizing on another big name that same night. Flo Rida is scheduled to be at the show to either perform or make a guest spot backstage. So, WWE will be winning over two different audiences; the ones that want to see Flo Rida sing and to eventually see Lesnar sport his WWE accoutrements as he makes his way down the ramp.
You can watch the video of the SummerSlam promo here that spoiled the John Cena vs. Lesnar SummerSlam match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Fans on here and all over the internet show consistent signs of detesting. Triple H’s hands were tied for this one, and this is just the company doing what is “best for business.”
It’s been said repeatedly that Lesnar is a moneymaker. As a business, World Wrestling Entertainment cannot shy away from loads of cash. The Rock did the same thing as Lesnar, but didn’t get as much flack for it. It truly sounds like a contradiction to me. Both are part-time wrestlers that are universally popular with many different demographics. Rocky brings in the females and movie star fans, and Lesnar will always have ties with the UFC and mixed martial arts enthusiasts.
Every WWE Universe-member is entitled to their own opinion. It wouldn’t be called the IWC for nothing. What started around 2009-2010, in my opinion, turned into a massive world of arguing and abhorrent for one another. However, when it comes down to wrestling alone, they come together.
The entire WWE Universe and IWC will come together to watch Lesnar go toe-to-toe with the WWE World Heavyweight Champion Cena at SummerSlam, but we’ll get to see weeks of build-up starting on Monday. Buckle up, as the mid-Summer program is about to hit the apex.
