Danica McKellar Engaged: ‘DWTS’ Star Says Yes To Scott Sveslosky
Danica McKellar is engaged, and the season 18 Dancing With the Stars contestant broke the news via her Instagram page. Danica is set to wed Scott Sveslosky, and she was all smiles as she showed off her engagement ring via social media.
The former The Wonder Years star, 39, was previously married to Mike Verta. The couple had a son, Draco, but she filed for divorce in 2012. Sveslosky is a partner at the law firm Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP. DWTS fans may remember Danica’s partner Val Chmerkovskiy giving a bit of a shout-out to Scott during the season. Fans enjoyed the partnership between Val and Danica, as they really seemed to “get” one another. Some hoped for romance, but throughout the season McKellar made it clear she had a significant other, even though viewers weren’t familiar with him.
According to People, Danica McKellar’s engagement may not be a long one. She said that the couple plan to get married later this year. Sveslosky has a 10-year-old son named Hunter from a previous marriage. Danica says, “We are looking forward to merging our families.”
This has definitely been a busy year for McKellar. In addition to dancing this spring with Chmerkovskiy and getting engaged, she has been involved with a reunion with her The Wonder Years cast. As Us Weekly notes, the cast just got together on Good Morning America this week to talk about their show. Time Life is set to release the full series on DVD for the first time, and it has become an opportunity for many to reminisce about the iconic show.
McKellar has, of course, done a lot in the 20 years since The Wonder Years aired. She went to UCLA to study math and graduated summa cum laude. She has written four non-fiction books and she says she has “the best life ever.” Danica says she has been “so blessed,” and “I’m so happy and excited about every day.” Life has been something of a whirlwind lately, but it does not sound as if she minds it one bit. McKellar noted, “Every month brings a new adventure, I never know what it’s going to be.”
From the sounds of things, The Wonder Years star’s newest adventure will be planning her wedding. Congratulations to the Dancing With the Stars alum on her big news. It did not take long for her DWTS partner to congratulate her via Twitter. Val Chmerkovskiy acknowledged Danica McKeller’s engagement by retweeting her post and adding, “Hugs to you a!” Congratulations to Scott Sveslosky and Danica McKellar on their engagement!
