Portia De Rossi Secretly Taped Drunken Fights With Ellen DeGeneres To Expose Her
Portia De Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have featured in the news headlines to a considerable degree recently with rumors of drunken fights, and the distinct possibility of divorce.
The latest reports to emerge suggest that De Rossi enraged DeGeneres by secretly filming drunken rows the couple had with the intention of making them public if and when appropriate.
In Touch magazine reported that a source told them Portia recorded the arguments and told Ellen that she would expose her abusive nature to the public if she continued to treat her badly.
The source shared: “Portia secretly taped some of their arguments. She was drunk. Then she threatened to expose Ellen as controlling and manipulating.”
According to the source, this just made Ellen Degeneres very angry and she flew into a rage when she realized she was being recorded. She then allegedly checked Portia’s email ‘sent’ box to ensure she hadn’t shared the damning video clips with anyone else.
These latest reports come after a string of other claims regarding the period Portia De Rossi spent in a rehab facility in May, supposedly in an attempt to get healthy and save her marriage.
A source close to Hollywood’s most talked about couple previously told In Touch that it’s clear who wears the pants in the De Rossi/DeGeneres household: “Ellen is domineering and Portia is passive. Ellen always calls the shots, and Portia never complains.”
In addition to that little gem of inside information, the source also revealed what life is like for Portia De Rossi, behind closed doors:
“She felt like a prisoner in her own home. She went from sipping white wine occasionally to drinking at least a bottle or more a day and topping it off with a pill. It got to the point where she was out of it four nights a week. They’ve had vicious shouting matches — with both of them yelling cruel, soul-crushing put-downs that they both deeply regretted.”
It is lucky for both Portia De Rossi and Ellen Degeneres that, so far, Portia never shared any of those alleged video clips with anyone; the media would have simply had a field day with that kind of material.
