2011 fantasy QB rankings
So it is about that time that all of us arm chair General Mangers get ready for our live fantasy football drafts. With that in mind we are going to go through the fantasy football rankings position by position. Of course we will start with probably the most important position or the perceived most important spot, and of course that is Quarterback. With that being said here are my top 5 fantasy QB’s for the 2011 season:
1.Michael Vick, Philadelphia Eagles– Sure Vick is a high risk high reward kind of guy, but I think he is due for a big season. He has been very solid in Philly, but the concern here is in two years there he has only played in 12 games each year. Defenses got to him later in the season last year, but for my money he tops the board.
2.Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers– I am pretty lucky he is my QB in a keeper league, and many fantasy football pundits out there have him as the number one QB. No arguments here, it would be hard to go wrong with him.
3.Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints– The Saints run a high powered offense, and he may have slipped a bit but I think Brees will still put up big numbers. The offense is New Orleans is a lot better, and that should help fantasy owners score a ton of points.
4.Tom Brady, New England Patriots– Tom is the man, and most of the stuff I have read have him firmly ranked in the top five. He has completed 65% of his passes the past two years, and Chad Ochocinco might put up big numbers with Brady throwing him the ball. Fantasy owners need to take notice of this guy. I am sure many of you already have.
5.Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts– there is also some risk here, Peyton is aging, that is for sure. However, if the Colts can protect him and keep opposing defenses honest with a decent running game Peyton will once again be Peyton. I wouldn’t have him as my starter, but the numbers do not lie.
Other names to look at may just be Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman; I think he is on the rise. I would also strongly consider Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan. The Falcons are going to score some points this year and Ryan may have a very big year.
