Bethenny Frankel Dons Daughter’s Clothes Because She Can, Sidesteps Critics
Bethenny Frankel suddenly finds herself fending off a backlash from merely following orders, sort of.
The Real Housewives of New York City (or RHONY) star posted a snap of her on Instagram wearing her 4-year-old daughter Bryn’s clothes. Perhaps,it was the pink shirt made to look like a crop-top or the pint-sized shorts she squeezed her petite frame into. Whatever it was, some in the public just didn’t understand what was going on before their eyes, according to Time.
Sunday, Frankel, 43, took to Instagram and greeted her 300,000 followers with this morning post:
This is my daughter’s nightgown and PJ shorts. Think we’re ready to start sharing clothes yet?”
Had it not been for Bethenny letting on that the plastered-on duds were her daughter’s pajamas, she could have made a convincing case for sleek sleepwear. One follower with the screen name caitxox023 had this to say about the skinny girl in the image:
I don’t think it’s right to judge people, but I also don’t think it’s right to put out the “anorexic” image that we see here. Now I am naturally small and have very high metabolism but I can’t fit in a 4 year olds clothes and I definitely don’t think Bethenny make a statement like she has about sharing clothes with a 4 year old. To me it just puts out the wrong image.”
And to that, k4s1a rebuked the comment by posting this:
“Lighten up people! Haters love to hate. She’s thin & lean but healthy. Why is it that when you’re thin people automatically label you as anorexic? Women should be nicer to one another. It is too often that women fail to recognize the beauty in other women. Shame on all of you. You go girl! @bethennyfrankelAin’t nothin’ wrong with you!”
Similar exchanges followed as readers sounded off about Bethenny’s bold move, but it all came to a head the next day when Frankel responded to her critics and made light of the situation.

She added that her beloved daughter was the impetus behind her decision to try on the tiny PJs. It appears she was faced with honoring the simple request or risking the breaking of Bryn’s heart. Well, what would you do?
In a post about the backlash from squeezing into the childish attire, NY Daily News touched on a 2011 interview in which the reality TV star revealed her past struggles with food and her weight. Today it appears she has discovered a way to cope, and by all accounts, it’s working.
In June, The Inquisitr reported that Bethenny Frankel and Jason Hoppy have come to terms over their long, public, and nasty custody battle over their daughter.
Frankel and her ex finally resolved the custody battle over Bryn after reasoning it was in the best interest of the child. Now that deserves a hat’s off.
