Chicago Protesters Call Obama ‘Worst President’ And Cite Modern Day Slavery
Chicago protesters deem President Barack Obama the “worst president ever elected.” South Side black residents gathered over the weekend to register their disgust with President Obama. One black male protester said Bill Clinton was the “African-American president,” not Obama.
The South Side Chicago protest was held in front of the city’s police department headquarters. The residents were angry that federal dollars (taxpayer money) were being spent on illegal immigrants while “native Chicagoans suffered.” The protesters were referencing the $3.7 billion President Obama requested from Congress to house, feed, and give medical care to more than 50,000 illegal immigrants from Mexico and Central American who crossed the Texas border already this year.
One unidentified protester captured on news video said, “Today, if you look at the time we were brought here as slaves 400 years ago, we got the same results today.” As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy garnered severe backlash when making a similar comparison during his extended battle with the Bureau of Land Management — BLM.
Some of the angst voiced during the Chicago protest outside of the police headquarters was related to the ongoing atmosphere of violent crime in the city. Despite having some of the most stringent gun laws in the nation, the Windy City is still often referred to as the “Murder Capitol” of the United States. Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy called the uptick in violent crime in the city’s most dangerous neighborhoods a “wake up call.”

In addition to referring to Barack Obama as the worst president ever elected, Chicago protesters also urged Police Superintendent McCarthy and Mayor Rahm Emanuel to resign. Those in the large crowds cited a failure to effectively handle the violence in the city as the reason Mayor Emanuel and the police official should step down from their posts.
The Chicago protesters noted that while President Obama has been involved with the “illegal invasion in Texas” this month, 120 have been shot and 26 killed in the Illinois city. “President Barack needs to pay attention to Chicago, if he cannot pay attention to Chicago and the African-American community, he needs to resign,” one protester told local news media.
The recent shooting of Jasmine Curry, a pregnant mother of five, prompted the Chicago residents to organize the protest. The slain woman’s father, Pierre Curry, also attended the gathering and told the crowd about the emotional pain he has endured after the loss of his daughter and the death of his son last year.
Pierre Curry had this to say before asking for prayers for his family and erupting into tears:
“I’d like to tell the young peoples [sic] out here, especially young African-Americans, I’d like to tell the world, Mr. President, congress, senate, aldermen, governor, the mayor–losing a child is something else, losing something that God gave to you, and some fool in the street took it, he didn’t have a right to take my son or my daughter from her five kids. And if anybody knows something, anything, man up.”
