Jane Lynch Wants In On ‘The View’, Would ‘Love’ To Join The Show
Looks like Jane Lynch has just unceremoniously thrown her name into the ring of rumored co-hosts of The View — sort of. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Glee actress and host of game show Hollywood Game Night would absolutely love to be considered for a spot between Whoopi Goldberg and Rosie O’Donnell.
That said, don’t take the sudden championing as an official announcement that Lynch is joining the ladies at The View. Even if she is interested, the Emmy winner said that she would only do a limited engagement of The View if she was asked by producers.
During a chat with HuffPost Live’s Ricky Camilleri, Jane admitted that she would be game to co-host if it was a limited engagement.
“I would do it for two months or something like that. she said. Yeah, I would love to do it. I don’t know if I could do it forever because I’m an actor, and I love to act.”
Interestingly enough, Jane would be up for the sparring, which as we reported, wasn’t something that Rosie O’Donnell was game for when she signed back on board with the ABC daytime talk show.
“I love conversation as evidence by our easy rapport. I think a natural curiosity and that type of thing actually turns me on, but I’m an actor, and I love to act.”
It wouldn’t be a huge stretch for Jane to join the panel for a limited engagement. Lynch has always struck us as a mild mannered person who is well educated in a myriad of topics. Throughout the years of watching her interviews, Jane has been very composed when discussing hot button issues like gay marriage and the LGBT being represented on television.
In addition with her show Hollywood Game Night, Lynch has become a personality in her own right, so she would be recognized by The View’s demographic, and a familiar face on the panel. As a person, she seems to have just the right amount of biting humor and a chipper outlook to do well on The View’s format. Then again, it seems with Rosie’s return to The View that some if not all of the show’s set up will likely change.
Even if Jane Lynch isn’t locked and loaded for the new season of The View, that doesn’t mean the talk show doesn’t have some additional exciting news to announce in the upcoming weeks. After the show’s official twitter account made the Rosie O’Donnell news official, it left fans wondering with this tweet:
In addition to the @rosie announcement, there is more exciting news for #TheView that we’ll be sharing with you in the coming weeks!
