Teresa Giudice is about two months out from her sentencing hearing where she will learn whether or not she is going to prison for committing fraud. The Real Housewives Of New Jersey star spoke with In Touch Weekly about what’s going through her mind and how she is feeling ahead of the trial. The reality star says that she simply can’t prepare herself for what’s to come and that the thought of going to prison is simply “terrifying.”
“No one can ever prepare themselves to go to prison. More importantly, how could I ever prepare myself to be away from my kids? It’s too terrifying for me to even think about.”
Teresa Giudice and her husband, Joe Giudice, both plead guilty to several federal fraud charges and both of them face time in prison. Teresa could spend up to two years behind bars while Joe faces nearly four years — and deportation. The couple has four daughters together: Gia, 13, Gabriella, 9, Milania, 8, and Audriana, 4. The girls will undoubtedly have a tough time without their parents if both end up going to jail. It’s unclear how much the girls are aware of, but Gia is old enough to understand a bit about what is going on — and what could potentially happen to her mom and dad.
It’s hard to even imagine being away from your children for a few weeks, never mind a couple of years. It’s frightening and hard to swallow, but Joe and Teresa may not have a choice.
Teresa added:
“I’ve had many sleepless nights worrying about being separated from my family. My family is my everything.”
Teresa Giudice and her husband were supposed to be in court last week, but a judge agreed to move their hearing to September after Joe’s father, Frank, passed away in June . As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Giudice family had a very hard time with Frank’s sudden death.
According to Radar Online , the new season of The Real Housewives Of New Jersey will focus heavily on Teresa and Joe’s “situation.” Their coming together as a family and dealing with this difficult time in their lives will be showcased on the new season which begins on Sunday, July 13. Obviously the couple is prohibited from discussing the legalities of the case on television, but there will be a lot of tears and a lot of family bonding caught by Bravo cameras.
