Zsa Zsa Gabor Resting At Home After Hospital Release
Actress Zsa Zsa Gabor is resting comfortably at home after being released from UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center on Wednesday, the actress was hospitalized on July 17 for a broken hip.
Gabor’s husband Prince Frederic von Anhalt said of his 93-year-old wife’s recovery:
“She is at home, and she is happy,” while adding, “She smiled already and started flirting with the guys who took her home. When she starts flirting, she is in good shape. At home here, with the environment and the air up here, we have lots of oxygen, and everything is clean. There’s not lots of nurses and doctors hanging around.”
Gabor was originally expected to spend just one week in the hospital however given her recently failing health she was kept for a much longer period. Gabor has been in a wheelchair since a 2002 car accident and she also suffered a 2005 stroke. Complications from surgery led to infections eventually caused Gabor to lose her leg and at one point slip into a coma.
Von Anhalf continued:
“She’s not a young chick anyone, she’s 93 years old. This time, she was scared. We have been married 24 years. She’s been in the hospital a few times, but she was never scared. She always smiled and said, ‘Don’t worry. Everything is going to be OK.’ She was scared because of her age and the big operation.”
Zsa Zsa Gabor’s husband called her a “fighter” a fairly accurate description of her will to live given the number of hospitals she’s been in and surgeries she has undergone over the last 12 months.
