‘Big Bang Theory’: Cast News And Notes
The Big Bang Theory is scheduled to return on September 22 with back-to-back episodes on it’s season premiere night. However, even though the new episodes are nearly three months away, we have plenty of cast news to keep up with!
The Big Bang Theory character actor Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon on the hit show, has been seen with his partner Todd Spiewak at center court at Wimbledon rooting on Canadian tennis phenom Eugenie Bouchard in multiple matches in the early part of tennis’ biggest tournament. Seems The Big Bang Theory‘s Parsons is quite the lucky charm for Bouchard, as she has won all her matches thus far and seeks a third straight win against Romania’s Simona Halep in the semi-finals. Will we continue to see Sheldon at Wimbledon? It’s quite probable for the admitted tennis super fan.
Simon Helberg, who plays Howard Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory, and his wife Jocelyn Towne celebrated the arrival of a fresh new baby boy April 23, 2014, but only announced the arrival late last month. This is the Big Bang Theory star’s second child, named Wilder Towne Helberg. Helberg and Towne have been married since 2007 and enjoyed the birth of their first daughter, Adeline in May 2012.
Canadian Big Bang Theory fans will be delighted to learn that Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar, who plays Raj Koothrappali on the comedy, will be part of the growing star-studded line-up of the Edmonton Comic and Entertainment Expo. The Big Bang Theory stars join Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D star J. August Richards. Both shows are among Canada’s highest ranking television shows. The Big Bang Theory has topped Canada’s ratings for four years straight while Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. captured the most Canadian viewers of any new show in the last year. The Comic and Entertainment Expo is scheduled for September 22 to 28 at the Edmonton Expo Center.
One highly reported rumor about The Big Bang Theory‘s upcoming season is that Lisa Kudrow of Friends fame and glory has been slated to make several cameo appearances throughout the season as Penny’s mom. Penny’s mom had been mentioned several times throughout the series, however we have never seen her mom in person. Apparently, this is about to change with Kudrow stepping into the role of Penny’s mom. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting said of The Big Bang Theory adding Kudrow:
“I don’t know what they’re going to do, but I have always thought — and I hope this doesn’t offend her (Lisa Kudrow) because I know she’s super young, though we know Penny’s mom got knocked up very early, that Lisa Kudrow would be so perfect. I’ve said that for years. I think it would be hilarious, plus I’m a huge fan of hers, so it’s a selfish wish.”
