Jessica Simpson Marries Retired NFL Player

Jessica Simpson made headlines this weekend because she has married retired NFL player Eric Johnson. Simpson and Johnson tied the knot on Saturday at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito.

Jessica Simpson, who is now 33 years old, wore a custom-made Carolina Herrera gown for her wedding dress. Many of the woman in attendance were spotted wearing brightly colored gowns in shades of pink, champagne, gold and turquoise.

Jessica Simpson’s representative Lauren Auslander confirmed that there were more than 250 guests at the wedding. Of course, Simpson’s parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, were in attendance along with Ashlee Simpson, and her fiancee, Evan Ross.

The newlyweds had their son Ace, 1, be the ring bearer for the wedding, and daughter Maxwell, 2, was the flower girl, while Ashlee’s son Bronx, 5, was walking along the aisle with her. The newlyweds made a statement, saying:

“We are overwhelmed with a complete happiness and love having made our eternal commitment. To say ‘I do’ in front of family, friends and, most importantly our children, has been the happiest moment in our lives.”

In May, when Jessica Simpson attended the White House Correspondent dinner as the guest of USA Today, Jessica revealed that she was close to her I dos. Simpson said, “I’ve been very picky on how I want everything to look and feel.” Simpson continued, “Eric’s family alone is almost 90 people, So it’ll definitely be a big event.”

This is Jessica Simpson’s second marriage; she was previously married to singer Nick Lachey. The two of them actually co-starred in a VH1 reality series called Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica. However, their marriage did not last, and they divorced each other back in November 2005.

Currently Jessica Simpson serves as a Weight Watchers spokesperson. Weight Watchers has helped Jessica go through an incredible physical transformation after having two kids. Simpson also has her own clothing line which consists of affordable shoes and attire that has netted more than a billion dollars in retail sales. Simpson also plans on getting back to her musician roots, She is currently building her own music studio in her home. Simpson said:

“I want to see what comes out. It’s time for me to find that out, and I can’t wait for my kids to experience that with me. Even Eric. He’s never seen me perform on stage before.”
