Shailene Woodley And Ellen Page Reportedly Dating, Forming New Hollywood Power Couple
Ellen Page and Shailene Woodley have reportedly started dating, forming a new and unlikely Hollywood power couple.
The 27-year-old Juno star has been friends with the 22-year-old Woodley for some time, but a source said they only recently moved the relationship to a different level.
It was actually Ellen’s recent coming out that pushed the relationship forward, a source told OK! Magazine.
“Ellen really leaned on Shailene through the coming out process,” the source said.
If true, the two would make quite the power couple. Woodley is one of the biggest rising stars in Hollywood, while Page has already established her star power in movies like Juno.
While Ellen Page is public about her sexuality, Shailene Woodley has only hinted at it so far. In a recent interview Shailene said that she loves people for who they are, “not their sex.”
The story wouldn’t seem too unlikely, however. Ellen Page has been open about her nervousness with coming out, and having Shailene Woodley for support would have meant a lot.
“The more time went by, the more something just happened, an Oh my god — I want to love someone freely and walk down the street and hold my girlfriend’s hand,” Page told Flare magazine, not saying at the time who the girlfriend was.
Page admitted that even though she was ready to be open with the world, she was still conflicted about it.
“You think you’re in a place where you’re all I’m thrilled to be gay, I have no issues about being gay anymore, I don’t feel shame about being gay, but you actually do. You’re just not fully aware of it. I think I still felt scared about people knowing. I felt awkward around gay people; I felt guilty for not being myself.”
Ellen Page is not the only Hollywood star rumored to be dating Shailene Woodley. There were also reports that the Fault in Our Stars actress was starting a relationship with Divergent co-star Theo James, but those rumors were later denied.
While Shailene Woodley and Ellen Page have not publicly said they are dating, the couple was recently seen having lunch in Los Angeles together, fueling more speculation.
