Joran Van Der Sloot Married Pregnant Girlfriend In A Peruvian Prison

Joran van der Sloot married his pregnant fiancee in a prison wedding ceremony on Friday, July 4, 2014, USA Today reports. Peruvian prison officials say inmate Joran van der Sloot married 24-year-old Leidy Figueroa, a woman he impregnated in prison several months earlier.

His engagement and plans to marry the woman were released to the public between April and May of this year. Convicted killer Joran van de Sloot is currently serving a 28-year prison sentence for the murder of Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez in 2010. He is also still a suspect in the murder of another woman who vanished on a senior trip in Aruba years earlier.

A petition was started online to stop the marriage of Joran van der Sloot, but those efforts were unsuccessful. Friends of prison wife Leidy Figueroa have taken to the web to defend her and her marriage to Joran van der Sloot. One person stated that Joran has changed, and that he is sorry for murdering Stephany.

Most people are repulsed by the fact that van der Sloot is still able to live his life freely in prison, let alone get married and have a child after murdering one young woman and being the main suspect in the disappearance of another.

Fans of a Facebook page dedicated to Stephany’s memory are outraged about her marriage to van der Sloot. Here is what some of them have to say: “What sicko would even think of touching this scumbag………..let alone have sex with it? “It is so unfortunate that two young and pretty women had their lives cut prematurely short in a horrific manner by this man who in turn is living his life to the fullest.” “what kind of prison is this?? Heard he would be doing hard time!! I’m surprised the psycho who slept with him got out alive!”

Stephany Tatiana Flores Ramirez was beaten and killed at a hotel in the Miraflores District of Lima, Peru. Her badly beaten body was found by an employee of the Hotel TAC. Hotel administration realized that the room was registered to a man named Joran van der Sloot. Van der Sloot had abandoned the hotel room after he committed the murder.

Peruvian authorities and members of the Peruvian community were outraged that Dutch citizen Joran van der Sloot had come to their country and killed one of their own. Peruvian authorities quickly traced Stephany’s steps which all led to Joran van der Sloot. He eventually confessed to the murder.

Joran Andreas Petrus van der Sloot first came to the attention of the public in 2005 when an American woman vanished in Aruba, according to People magazine. Records show that Natalee Holloway, a resident of Birmingham, Alabama, left for a senior trip with Mountain Brook High School to Aruba. Van der Sloot confessed to her murder but later recanted the statement.

Joran van der Sloot’s mother has distanced herself from her son for the most part, but did send the groom some clothing for his upcoming nuptials, sources say.
