Fast and Furious 7 Release Date Has Been Moved Forward
Fast and Furious 7 makes headlines today because they have announced to move the release date of their film forward. This means the film will be released on April 3rd, 2015 which is a week earlier than its previous release date, which was April 10th. This change is due to the fact that that Fast and Furious 7 is officially done shooting.
This earlier release date also provides a nice gap between the other major hit summer movies such as The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Tomorrowland.
The original release date for the film was July 10th, 2014, but due to Paul Walkers tragic car accident, production on the film stopped for a while so producers could figure out what to do about Walker’s role in the film. Thankfully production for Fast and Furious 7 did resume, but this meant they had to push back the film to April 10th, 2015, so the crew would have more time to work in the necessary re-shoots.
These re-shoots included Paul Walker’s scenes with his brothers Cody and Caleb Walker standing in as body doubles for their late brother. Cody and Caleb Walker will be merged with CGI and will have voice alteration work to make them look and sound more like their brother Paul Walker. Hopefully these special effects won’t ruin the film, but its nice to see that Walker’s brothers are stepping in to help fill Paul’s shoes for the film. Cody and Caleb will also help retire Walker’s character Brian O’ Connor. Producers didn’t want to actually kill Walker in fiery car accident in the movie due to his actual death so they decided they will give him a happier ending.
Fast and Furious 7 will feature the surviving characters from Fast and Furious 6 and the return of Tokyo Drift star Lucas Black, for a story revolving around Ian Shaw( Jason Statham) looking to get payback for his brother’s death in part 6. There will also be newcomers such Oscar nominee Djimon Hounsou, Tony Jaa, and Kurt Russell who has an introductory role that will set him as the next bad guy for part 8.
The Fast and the Furious franchise is growing exponentially, and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. This next film will definitely be the best and most memorable due to all the effort the cast and crew has put into it for their fallen brother Paul Walker.
