Meek Mill Says Jail Helped Him Get His Head Straight [Video]
Meek Mill spent some time in jail not too long ago, though it appears the rapper put this experience to good use.
Although some folks who cool their heels behind bars often go right back into the same old nonsense, Mill apparently used this opportunity to put things into perspective. Instead of falling back into bad habits, Meek told The Rickey Smiley Morning Show that jail essentially helped him get his life and career back on track.
According to Meek Mill, he spent some time in jail for guns, drugs, and essentially “not knowing any better.” However, it appears that the rapper has learned his lesson.
“I went to jail, came home, decided that’s what I didn’t want to do, came home, put my life into music, and made a lot of money,” Meek explained.
Meek Mill also took a moment to discuss who has the best “celebrity booty,” an honor that went to fellow rapper Nicki Minaj. When asked what he thought about Jennifer Lopez’s famous posterior, Mill didn’t seem too interested because the American Idol judge hasn’t had a hit record in quite some time. That’s gotta sting a little.
According to Complex, Meek Mill fans should have plenty of new music to stuff into their eager ears within the next few months. Although we don’t have a proper release date to share with the masses just yet, apparently it’s only a matter of time before the rapper drops his sophomore album, Dreams Worth More Than Money. The project will reportedly feature a collaboration with A$AP Ferg and Big Sean.
“There ain’t even no hook on it. And it’s Ferg sounding like you never heard Ferg sound. Every time people hear it they’re like ‘Who is this right here?'” Mill said of the song.
Unfortunately for Meek Mill, troubled seemed to stumble in his general direction during a BET Awards after party at the Supper Club. According to Mstarz, a man wearing a white t-shirt randomly opened fire at the venue at around 2 am on Monday (June 30). Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
There were reportedly a number of celebrities at the Supper Club when the shooting took place. In addition to Mill, The Game, T-Pain, and Busta Rhymes were in attendance.
