Following the game Eugenie Bouchard told reporters, “it was a tough battle, I’ve played [Kerber] before and I knew what to expect. I had to just keep fighting and I pulled it out at the end”.
Bouchard has gained some impressive supporters throughout the tournament. According to Yahoo Sports, Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in the Royal Box during Bouchard’s match.

Earlier this week, Genie Bouchard’s entourage even had a contingent from Hollywood. Jim Parsons, star of The Big Bang Theory, was courtside for her Saturday game.
It seems Parsons and Bouchard have developed an unlikely friendship over the past year. On Saturday, Parsons sat down with ESPN’s Hannah Storm to talk about the relationship.
“She played her first professional Wimbledon last year, and her manager contacted my manager, and apparently she watches Big Bang, and he knew I was a fan of tennis and he said, ‘Is there any chance Jim could come to Wimbledon? He could sit in the players’ box with us.’ “
While Parsons did not watch Bouchard at last year’s Wimbledon tournament, the pair finally met last week. Bouchard even posted this selfie to show off their relationship.

Bouchard’s boyfriend Alex Galchenyuk has no reason to be jealous. Parsons attended Wimbledon this week alongside his longtime partner, Todd Spiewak.
Genie Bouchard’s Wimbledon run continues on Thursday, with her semi-final game against Simona Halep. It is shaping up to be a challenging match. According to Global News, Bouchard lost to Halep last March, the only time the pair have faced each other.
“[Halep] is a good player and I’m ready for another tough match,” Bouchard said. “I’m excited to be in the semifinals against [her] but I want to go further for sure.”
Fans can track Genie Bouchard’s progress at Wimbledon through her active Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages.
The fabled tennis tournament continues until July 6, at the All England Club outside London.
