Fund Drive Started For Christian Radio Host Family After Child Sex Allegations
A fund drive started for former Christian Radio host John Balyo’s wife Bethany has a $50,000 goal after Balyo was arraigned June 23 for child sex allegations.
Balyo was a host at WCSG in Grand Rapids, MI, a station affiliated with Cornerstone University.
As of June 27, $10,706 was already donated at youcaring.com. Donors include friends and strangers who want to help after Balyo was arrested at a Gaylord Christian music festival according to The Grand Rapids Press.
The couple had been married for seven weeks prior to his arrest.
“I hope many small donations turn into a river of blessing for you,” a donor wrote. “May God’s love show through these tokens of support for you and your son.”
Balyo is charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct involving an 11-year-old boy. He allegedly paid Ronald Lee Moser of Battle Creek to arrange sexual encounters with children.
Federal authorities confirmed Balyo rented a storage facility that included a “bondage kit” that had handcuffs and chains, as well ass rubber gloves, duct tape, and children’s socks. The unit also contained magazine articles about missing children as well as children’s obituaries, and a publication titled “Gauntlet” that is about erotic photography.
The website posted a message “On June 20, Bethany and her son’s world was turned upside down by unforseen circumstances. A new bride of just seven weeks, this now single mom is experiencing something that no person should have to endure.”
Many well-wishers have been opening their hearts and pockets to help the devastated mom reported The Christian Post.
“Praying for you and your family. I worked with John at camp for several years. My prayers are also with him, as Satan is alive and active and able to take hold of even the smallest of our temptations, no matter how strong we believe we are,” Katie wrote, who donated $100.
“Bethany, you have been on my heart from the beginning of this mess. I can’t say I know what this is like, but I have been through terrible tragedy myself and all I can say is: stay close to God, ” wrote Laura E. who also donated $100. “He will give you the strength to get through it all and he will send ‘angels’ in the form of lovely, godly people that will keep you lifted up. Please know we are praying for you. May God bless you beyond all you can imagine.”
The funds are expected to cover expenses for counseling, medical care, loss of income and living expenses.
As previously reported in The inquisitr, Balyo faces life in prison if convicted.
