Apple’s iPhone 5c catches a lot of flack for, well, not being the iPhone 5s, but it’s a very solid phone, more than enough phone for most smartphone buyers. So, if you’re looking for a handset to replace the one you carelessly dropped, the iPhone 5c is a great option, and now you can get it for just $450.
It’s not a trick, scam, or gimmick; you can pick up a 32GB iPhone 5c in the color of your choice for just $450. Right now, eBay seller mobilepros1 has Apple’s mid-range iPhone available for hundreds of dollars off its regular price. On its store, Apple has the 32GB iPhone 5c selling unlocked and contract-free for $650. That means you can save $200, or about 30 percent, off the regular iPhone 5c price.
The iPhone 5c models on sale are new, not refurbished, so they’ll be under warranty. These iPhone models are GSM units, meaning they will work with T-Mobile, AT&T and other GSM carriers, but they won’t work with Sprint or Verizon.
The iPhone 5c is essentially a repackaged iPhone 5. Instead of the high-end aluminum build Apple has used in previous iPhone models, the iPhone 5c packs a polycarbonate build, but we can say that it’s the best feeling plastic phone on the market. In addition to the 32GB of internal storage, the iPhone 5c has an 8-megapixel camera that records 1080p video, a 4-inch Retina display, and an A6 processor.
All that translates to a solid phone. Remember how everyone raved about the iPhone 5 in 2012? Yes, same phone, except the iPhone 5c has a colorful plastic build.
If you pick up an iPhone 5c, you’ll be able to run iOS 7, and you’ll be able to upgrade to iOS 8 when Apple releases that update in the fall. Unlike the 5s, the iPhone 5c does not have a Touch ID fingerprint sensor, so you won’t be able to take advantage of iOS features using that security component. As the Inquisitr has previously explained, you may also see performance hits with the 5c, as it will be essentially a two-year-old phone by the time iOS 8 comes out.
Still, if you’re looking for a smartphone and don’t need all of the latest bells and whistles, it’s hard to go wrong with an unlocked iPhone 5c for just $450. Apple handsets retain their value very well, and this iPhone 5c model has the added bonus of not being tied to a contract. That way, if you do find that you want to upgrade from the plastic iPhone, you can just sell it with no worries about an early termination fee.
