Justin Bieber And Selena Gomez Use Selfies To Mock ‘Cocaine Video,’ Perfectly
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may have addressed a tabloid’s claim that they were “caught snorting cocaine” on video, by posting oddly fit for purpose selfies mocking the idea they are raving coke heads.
Update:Re: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez “cocaine video” allegation.
Kudos to Perez Hilton, who just torpedoed In Touch’s baseless claim.
Hilton obtained a quote from the rep at IOak Los Angeles — where Bieber and Gomez were alleged to have been caught on video doing lines. As it turns out, the nightclub rep said:
“Justin Bieber has never been to 1OAK LA.”
Note: More stunning even than the ease with which Hilton fact checked this story and killed it, is the reality that Bieber and Gomez appear to have so little faith in this industry’s desire and ability to report with integrity, that they didn’t even bother challenging a rumor they knew wasn’t true.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez may have taken a leaf out of Queen Bey’s selfie handbook to address a tabloid’s claim that they were “caught snorting cocaine” on video, by posting to-the-point selfies mocking the idea they are raving coke heads.
The couple that mocks together, stays together?
In Touch Weekly magazine’s on-the-stands claim that a video is currently being shopped of Bieber and Gomez allegedly — and openly — snorting lines of cocaine while partying at the 1Oak nightclub in Los Angeles last week had everyone going.
For about a minute.
Then we remembered that even after Bieber’s Escalade just got slammed by a BMW SUV, he instinctively put a jacket over his head as he jumped into another van before the minor crash scene became paparazzi paradise. We also remembered that the “Confident” singer is currently juggling multiple civil court cases because of his evident, acute allergy to being photographed.
Some of us even remembered the Canadian’s toxicology report, after his arrest on suspicion of DUI, revealed he’s an anxious stoner not a manic, paranoid freak.
Recalling Gomez”s constant use of her hair or hands to face paparazzi came in handy too. We also remembered that a 21-year-old girl with an auto-immune condition who’s currently front and center of some of the most invasive, offensive tabloid coverage we’ve seen for a long time, isn’t the likeliest of first choices to chop ’em out at a club.
In short, the idea of Jelena brazenly snorting cocaine in a public place when they both know footage of that would make the Beyonce, Jay Z, Solange “elevator video” fee look like chump change, is just slightly north of fantastical.
Seen in that light, Gomez may well have thought the perfect response to claims that she and the Biebs were “secretly recorded” on a “dark and [conveniently]” fuzzy video hoovering up cocaine, was the Instagram selfie she posted yesterday from a doctor’s waiting room.
Selena’s witheringly sarcastic caption reads:
“Fabulously/intensely dealing with sinus problems. Clearly. #blamethe70sflarepants”
Get it?
Gomez’s facial expression is a picture too. Unsmiling, pouty and a just a little bit p***** off.
Over at Justin’s Instagram and Shots of Me accounts, the 20-year-old also appeared to take aim at claims he and his girlfriend “got caught doing lines.”
In one Instagram selfie photo posted very late on Wednesday, Bieber wrote:
“Slept all day, up all night.”
Now, what does that remind us of?
His facial expression?
Exactly what it says on the tin.
Bieber’s second selfie, posted to his Shots app, revealed a non-nuanced caption.
It reads: “Can’t sleep.”
We should mention that a well-placed source has since blasted the “Bieber-Gomez cocaine snorting video” claim, and stated that such a tape “does not exist.”
We explore that in our detailed report here.
But somehow, after Jelena’s selfies, it’s probably not necessary.
(Not the frst time Bieber and Gomez have used images to send powerful statements.)
