Could WWE have given away the result of the WWE World Heavyweight Title Money in the Bank Ladder match already? It seems that WWE has had a habit of, in their marketing genius, messing up. WWE tends to like putting out posters and graphics for PPVs and DVD sets months in advance of them actually happening. This is usually done to help move promotion quicker for a product, which is smart business.
The problem with this is that the person who is on the cover of certain products like a SummerSlam DVD, by chance, could be appearing in a top tier match on the event. WWE ended up running into an issue recently when former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan went down with an injury. He had a successful neck operation but the neck was slow to heal, therefore he was kept out of action to keep him from hurting himself further.
This hurt the WWE as they did not want Bryan to lose the WWE World Heavyweight Title so quickly. Most thought he would have a good run and lose at SummerSlam, which would help set him up for a good Fall storyline where WWE tends to fade due to football’s popularity in America. WWE realizes that without Bryan, they have to get the WWE World Heavyweight Title on someone who it could work for.
Clearly only two men in the match currently work for the World Title that are established. Those men, are Randy Orton and John Cena. Of course most people want to see newcomers Bray Wyatt or Roman Reigns win the big one. The problem with this is that WWE wants to build both a bit more before they put a World Title of any kind on them. Sure, there could always be a chance one of them could get it. However, it would be doubtful. It seems that WWE has already made their choice as well.
Sent to Amazon by the WWE, a poster(see above) shows John Cena and Brock Lesnar on the cover. Now most might see this is as no big deal. We could simply see another John Cena/Brock Lesnar match. The problem with that is that Lesnar spoke earlier in the year that he wants a World Title shot. He may just jump at the front of the line too. How many people can say they beat The Undertaker at WrestleMania?
Clearly WWE needs a top tier babyface(good guy) to face Lesnar for the title. Obviously Bryan would make the most sense and him losing to Lesnar would easily be believable due to size and skill. Without Bryan however, WWE has to use someone else to face off with the Man Beast. That means that John Cena will most likely win the WWE World Heavyweight Title at Money in the Bank, thus, being the opponent for Brock at SummerSlam.
Now do keep in mind, anyone could cash in their briefcase as well. So while Cena could very well win, a person who wins the Money in the Bank briefcase match on Sunday could simply cash in the same night. That seems doubtful however.
A good main event would be Cena/Lesnar. Also, the last time the two fought the match turned out to be very entertaining.
The problem WWE faces at this point is that they have to somehow surprise us now that the news is out Cena will win at Money in the Bank. How they plan to do that is uncertain however. WWE could pull a big swerve on us however, so don’t be surprised if they released this poster on purpose only to shock us at the actual event. WWE has been known to send out red herrings in past only to fool us at the actual show.
