Cat Perches On Cop’s Shoulder During Burglary Investigation [Photo]
When a cat perched on a cop during a burglary investigation the actual crime itself may have been mundane but the photo went viral because… well, it is the internet and it’s a cat photo.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, the top 10 cat commercial videos will have you laughing your butt off even if the purpose is to advertise a product. There’s also the kitten jam video which has two lovable cats bobbing their heads to the beat of music. But my favorite one has to be the Dear Kitten video, which has an older feline training a kitten in the ways of being a house cat… sarcastically, of course.
Now police officer Sarah Kerwin was not trying to make an internet sensation or even a joke when the photo of the cat perched on the cop’s shoulders was taken. She was the responding officer to a burglary report in southeast Portland and when she went to investigate the home she ran into an orange tabby who might have gotten itself into trouble.
Sgt. Pete Simpon says the police were called in to search for a potential suspect but instead they only found broken glass on the floors of the bathroom and the basement. Because of the danger this glass posed to the feet of the cat, Kerwin scooped up the orange cat and let it ride around on her shoulders as the cops finished searching the building.
No burglar was ever found but they did manage to make one nice cat photo in the process.
