Google Glass Promotes Its Worth Through The Eyes Of London [VIDEO]
Google has been trying to promote their newest product, the Google Glass, as the next big thing in technology and gadgetry. Unfortunately for them, the new tech has been marred with negativity and aggression. So what does Google have to do to open up Google Glass to the public? Simply show it off in everyday life as something cool, viable, and necessary.
The video of London citizens using Google Glass in their everyday lives was uploaded to the Google Glass channel, June 23, 2014, on Youtube. At this moment of this article’s publication, this video is trending, which makes sense because most people only know what Google Glass does through description and/or written articles. We have never truly seen the new tech utilized in everyday, normal life. Therefore, the Google Glass Explorer Program was created, which is people signing up to “explore” Google Glass by using it in their lives. Right now, the program seems to be only available in the United Kingdom and willing participants can sign up on their official website, Google+, Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook.
Prior to this program, Google tried to emphasize a popularity spike by having known people in their respective fields utilize Google Glass. This includes Roy Choi, the famous chef who is responsible behind all the dishes in the movie Chef, and Sabita Malla, one of the photographers for the World Wildlife Fund. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for them because showcasing the product exampled through people living not-the-norm or extraordinary lives is very hard to relate to.
Now it seems they have a winner with this video. True there are a lot of skeptics who don’t like Google Glass, especially what it can do with privacy, but even I, who has reported numerous times against Google Glass, has to admit this is very good marketing. Still, just on the Inquisitr alone, we reported how privacy will become a thing of the past with the new tech. It will take some time for this acceptance because people will still stand up for their privacy, which has caused new laws and regulations to be made. Despite this, Google Glass wearers still wear them on their own accord despite being assaulted and banned from public places. That too will change with Google Glass evolves to look like RayBans and Oakleys.
So what do you all think? Does the new promotion make you excited to wear Google Glass or are you still against the new technology? Let us know in the comments below.
