Justin Bieber And Cody Simpson Teaming Up On ‘Cool Special Project’
Cody Simpson opens up about a “cool special project” with Justin Bieber. Apparently one song is “beautiful,” which we knew. What we didn’t know is “it’s definitely going to lead to more stuff.” Do tell Cody!
Aussie teen idol Cody Simpson was Justin Bieber’s first musical session destination when he returned to the US from Canada after a hostile public reaction to his N-word videos leaks.
The two boys were seen at a Los Angeles recording studio in a late lockdown that went on to the wee, wee hours about two weeks ago, and it seems the results got both Justin and Cody excited enough to make a project out of it.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 17-year-old “Surfboard” singer recalled of his collaboration with the Biebs:
“He’d been seeing my guitar skills recently,” he noted, adding, “We wrote a beautiful song and it’s definitely going to lead to more stuff.”
It’s not surprising Cody and Justin connect. They’re both managed by Scooter Braun. Both were discovered on YouTube when they were kids and went on to become teen idols. And Simpson supported Bieber for part of his Believe world tour.
Despite this, Cody politely batted away a question about being compared to Bieber, telling ET:
“We’re both heading in different directions as we grow up.” He added, “He’s becoming a cool musical mate of mine.”
We’ll admit we’re eager to hear what Justin and Cody came up with during their night to dawn session for tons of reasons. But here’s three.
Justin was coming out of a serious funk when he returned to the States. While in Canada, it was revealed he was joined by on-again, off-again girlfriend Selena Gomez, who was clearly helping Bieber through the videos backlash.
During what must have been a very raw time, Justin posted an extraordinary Instagram snap of himself and Gomez, which showed Justin burying his head in Selena’s arms.
The black and white shot was captioned: “Our love is Unconditional.”

So, there’s a whole field of emotion that Bieber took to that first session. Likewise, for Cody. He recently reunited with Guess model Gigi Hadid after their break-up in early 2014.
Interestingly, after Cody stepped up to win her back, Gigi posted a sweet photo of them as a couple with the caption, “”happy one, bub, unconditional” on June 14.
There’s a saying that once a boy understands what real love is, they become a man.
So we’re looking forward to hearing what these burgeoning men — who’ve been at the sharp end of love — have got to say for themselves musically.
Next reason. An engineer on Justin and Cody’s session posted this photo and his opinion of the song in the caption, which made it sound very tasty.

So, in short, we can’t wait to hear the song, and we can’t wait to hear more details about that “cool special project.”
