Ariana Grande’s Brother Joins Cast Of ‘Big Brother 16’: But Is Frankie A BB Fan?
Ariana Grande will have some competition for media print this summer, coming from within the ranks of her own family. Her older brother Frankie is one of the contestants on the new season of Big Brother in the U.S.
Us Weekly noted Grande’s fashion choice in the official snaps released by CBS: “Pink-haired Grande wore a colorful striped shirt for his big debut, and smiled with his hands on his hips.” Noting that the contestants often keep mum about their famous relatives while inside the house, Us said it remains to be seen if Frankie will own up to his connection to Ariana.
Frankie is 31 years old. His younger sister, a recording artist and veteran of the Nickelodeon series Victorious, is 20.
Ariana gushed about her brother in a tweet last Thursday when the cast was announced, letting fans know she’ll be watching and supporting her bro:

Frankie may be a noted presence in the Big Brother house, but if producers were looking for superfans to set up residence this summer, they may have missed the mark with Grande. As a YouTube personality, he lets slip a lot of information about himself to his followers.
In a video posted a year ago with ten things you may not know about him, Frankie doesn’t mention any ongoing subscription to the Big Brother live feeds. Despite saying he loves reality television, he doesn’t single out Big Brother. Survivor is his top pick. As far as television in general, it seems he spends a little time each day watching Spongebob Squarepants. Other tidbits include his French language proficiency, his affinity for bugs, and that he’s a sci-fi geek. Check out the video below:
Whether he’s a fan of the show or not — if he’s a reality show addict, it’s safe to assume he’s at least perused previous seasons of the franchise — Grande’s personality will likely heighten viewer entertainment. His official website lists lengthy performance credits in regional theatre and on Broadway. This means talent certainly runs in the family, as Ariana Grande is currently riding a wave of popularity. Reportedly, even Beyoncé has Ariana on her playlist.
The Big Brother house, redesigned every year, has an “urban treehouse” theme this season. New twists include the naming of two heads of household each week instead of one.
