Social Media Goes Gaga For Felon Jeremy Meeks
Social media went into a tailspin this week after the police department in Stockton California released the mug shot of Jeremy Meeks online.
After less than 24 hours after posting Jeremy Meeks mugshot on Facebook the picture was receiving thousands of ‘likes’, comments, shares and propositions, mostly by women swooning over his chiselled features.
Despite having a face that makes women go gaga, Jeremy Meeks’ history is less than desirable.
Stockton police issued a statement saying that on Wednesday Jeremy Meeks was stopped after he was seen leaving a home where a search warrant was about to be executed. After carrying out a search on his car, police found a 9mm round of ammunition, an unregistered and loaded Springfield Armory.45 calibre semi-automatic handgun, two extended magazines for the firearm and a small amount of ‘what is believed to be’ marijuana in his passenger compartment. They also believe Jeremy Meeks to be part of the Northside Gangster Crips.
Jeremy Meeks was arrested on five weapons and one gang charge and was arraigned in Stockton on Friday where his bail was set at $1m.
Jeremy Meeks past shows that he has been having trouble with the law for the past ten years. Jeremy Meeks has been in and out of court for crimes including resisting arrest, identity theft in the second degree and grand theft, for which he served two years.
Public Information Officer Joseph Silva called Jeremy Meeks ‘one of the most violent criminals in the Stockton area’.
‘It’s been a long term investigation over many weeks and Mr Meek’s gang was identified as the most violent and active gang in the area,
The handsome Jeremy Meeks has a pleather of tattoos on his body including a teardrop under his eye, often indicating a gang killing, and a large “Crip” tattoo on his forearm, suggesting a link to the notoriously dangerous Crips gang known to be involved in murders and drug deals, although there is no evidence linking Jeremy Meeks to these crimes.
Family and friends of Jeremy Meeks deny he is involved in any dodgy dealings and that Jeremy Meeks is a changed man.
‘He gave his heart to God, that is why he changed,’ she said Jeremy Meeks’ niece. With a son and a wife his family insist that Jeremy Meeks is now a loving family man and doting husband.
Jeremy Meeks is due to appear in court again on the 27th of June.
