WWE: Randy Orton’s Money In The Bank Victory Is Inevitable
Randy Orton had the whole world in his hands. While Triple H recruited the former-12 time World champion to be the face of the WWE last summer, Orton was back to where he was used to wrestling. Let’s be honest, after his dominant run with Legacy, it was on to Friday Night Smackdown for him and uninteresting storylines galore.
For wrestling fans, SummerSlam 2013 provided excitement combined with hatred and jealousy. Daniel Bryan wanted to be the WWE World Heavyweight champion more than winning the lottery. The inevitable victory came true for Bryan at WrestleMania 30.
It was on to the reincarnation of Evolution for Orton and Batista. They fought back and forth with the Shield for two pay-per-views. Following two straight victories for Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins, Evolution lost a member and gained a future WWE World Heavyweight champion.
Orton should be the next champion, which will happen at Money in the Bank next week.
There is no guarantee for Randy Orton to be the next champion, but according to our own Addam Corre, a feud with HHH could be in his future.
With Bryan on injured reserve after neck surgery, the belt is vacant. Even though the fans love when vacant is champion, HHH and Stephanie McMahon are right when they say the WWE Universe needs a fighting champion. Enter Orton and his boring promos.
Orton has undergone health scares lately. He missed an episode of Monday Night Raw a few weeks ago due to a neck injury that stemmed from a match with the Big Show. On top of that, John Cena and Orton missed live events this weekend. For a promotion without a top champion to have their top two guys injured is not good news. If only Bad News Barrett were here to deliver the bad news.
Randy Orton is a top heel in the company, something the roster has been severely lacking since CM Punk left the company in January. Bray Wyatt will be a babyface by the end of the calendar year, and Seth Rollins still isn’t the “top heel” quite yet.
If it were up to me, Rollins would win the second Money in the Bank ladder match for the briefcase. Randy Orton was appointed by Triple H to be in the ladder match for the vacant championship. Then again, Cena will be in the match too. WWE’s top two superstars will be fighting for the company’s top prize.
Orton, if healthy, might end up as the new WWE World Heavyweight champion after Money in the Bank. The only hiccup could be Brock Lesnar’s inevitable return to face the champion. Two heels wouldn’t make a SummerSlam main event, so that means one of them needs to be a face. That automatically rules out the Beast Incarnate. Does that mean a face turn is in the future for Orton?
