Grey’s Anatomy: Cast News
Grey’s Anatomy is currently between seasons, however fans still have much to talk about as the cast, past and present, is constantly in the news.
Eric Dane, who played McSteamy for several seasons on Grey’s Anatomy, is setting sail in his new TNT series The Last Ship. The series is set on a ship after a virus wipes out the global population leaving Captain Tom Chandler, played by Dane, and his destroyer crew to find a cure. The former Grey’s Anatomy star admits that he had been looking for a role opposite his McSteamy persona. He just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with The Last Ship Executive Producer Michael Bay (Transformers).
The Last Ship premieres Sunday, June 22 at 9 EST on TNT.
Fans of Grey’s Anatomy are definitely familiar with Patrick Dempsey, who plays McDreamy. Dempsey is a car racing nut who owns, at least in part, a racing team who participated in the 2014 Le Mans 24 hour endurance race, the 82nd installment of the famed race. Dempsey, who races with the team, set a goal of getting on the podium, in other words placing in at least third place, for the 2014 race. Last year, the Dempsey/Porsche team finished within 90 seconds of reaching the podium.
The legendary race took place June 11-15 in France, and sadly the Grey’s Anatomy superstar was unable to reach the podium. Dempsey/Porsche was flooded with issues throughout the race and placed 24th. The top two teams were driven by German teams and both drove Audi.
Katherine Heigl, who played Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy from 2005 through 2010, stars in a new NBC show State Of Affairs, which premieres in September. In the political thriller, Heigl plays CIA analyst Charleston Tucker who did work in the field, and now is a key player in organizing the President’s briefings. Her character prioritizes international crisis facing the U.S. with her team.
The series is getting some really good reviews and is listed as a must watch on many sites across the web. But judge for yourself! Take a look at the official trailer below.
Jessica Capshaw, Dr. Arizona Robbins on Grey’s Anatomy, and her famous family, mom Kate Capshaw (Indiana Jones) and stepdad Steven Spielberg, who needs no credentialing, raised $200,000 for the Coalition of Engaged Education along with Ms. Capshaw’s adoptive brother Theo and half sister Sasha. The Coalition of Engaged Education is a non-profit organization who works with high school students identified as drop out risks on summer projects as well as many other projects throughout California. The goal for the gala event was $100,000.
