Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez’s Romantic Dinner Date Included Grandparents, The Movie Didn’t [Video]
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s romantic dinner and movie date had some extra guests on Friday. Bieber’s maternal grandparents, Diane Dale and husband Bruce Dale joined the reunited couple for dinner.
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’s dinner and movie date night just got a lot more romantic or a lot less romantic, depending on how you feel about grandparents tagging along.
It had been reported that the on-again, off-again, now on-again couple enjoyed dinner for two at the luxe Mastro’s steakhouse in Beverley Hills on Friday, amid blarney about the pair nuzzling at a backroom corner table while “Justin stared into Selena’s eyes…”
But video footage uploaded by X17Online reveals Justin’s maternal grandparents were also at the dinner date.
In the clip, which was posted on the X17Online website on Saturday, Justin and Selena are seen emerging from a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van, right after two Bieber bodyguards were greeted by a Mastro’s staff member at a parking lot entrance to the eatery.
Justin’s grandparents — Diane Dale and second husband Bruce Dale — are seen following the reunited couple into the steak restaurant along with others.
Diane Lane is the mother of Pattie Mallette, who is mom to the Biebs. Justin is known to refer to Bruce simply as “grampa” without the “step” prefix.
Bieber has previously spoken about wanting to copy his grandparents’ successful marriage, so their invite to the couple’s dinner date may have extra meaning.
Although Bruce and Diane joined Justin and Selena’s reportedly two-hour meal at Mastro’s, photographs and video reveals they didn’t leave with or accompany their grandson and his girlfriend to the movie part of their Friday date night.

The dinner and movie sighting continues a full week of Jelena spotting, amid multiple insider reports confirming the Bieber and Gomez reunion is very much back on.
The loved-up sweethearts saw a showing of Think Like A Man Too at the Westfield Century City Mall. The comedy stars Bieber’s pal Kevin Hart and Gabrielle Union.
Other patrons and fans at the movie theater shared videos and images of the couple’s arrival on Instagram.
At one point in the clip, the 21-year-old “Come & Get It” songstress is seen lovingly or lustily touching the 20-year-old “Baby” singer’s back.
Earlier in the week, the twosome were caught on another Instagram video film celebrating a mutual pal’s birthday at the West Hollywood nightclub Bootsy Bellows, after a day of fun on Malibu beach riding Justin’s Can-Am Spyder three-wheeler.
Tuesday was marked by a police call out to Selena’s Los Angeles home during a tacos and piano get-together following a noise complaint, which was reportedly resolved with a simple “turn it down” order and since been inflated to a police raid by clickbait-focused tabloid sites.
On Wednesday, the reconciled duo swung by a West Hollywood recording studio. They later went to bible study at The City Church in Los Angeles, hosted by mutual pal, Pastor Judah Smith.
An eyewitness at the study told Us Weekly Justin and Selena were “lovey dovey and cute” and “smitten,” while a “sleeping snap” that surfaced after a second recording studio date on Thursday underlined the return of Jelena.

However, a previous E! News report quoted a source as saying Gomez is approaching their reunion at a slower pace than her beau, but “can’t drop those feelings.”
On Saturday, the outlet sounded a further note of restraint. E! cited an insider who said the Disney alum decided to give her stormy four-year relationship with Bieber another chance while she was overseas – but “on her terms.”
The insider added that Selena was reluctant at first, and her family have been advising her not to get back with Justin.

According to the source, seasonal needs won out and Selena eventually decided she didn’t want to be single this summer.
That closing reason isn’t so much a grand love story as “grand for right now.” But we’re not really buying it.
So, will Bieber and Gomez last the distance this time after their umpteenth reunion?
Who knows?
But so far, as their trip to Los Angeles zoo on Sunday with Justin’s grandparents reveals – they’re keeping it secute.
