Chuck Norris Slams President Obama And Prisoner Of War Exchange
Chuck Norris is famous for his skills in martial arts and his written column about President Obama certainly won’t go down easily without a fight.
Norris recently decided to let the world know exactly how he feels about President Obama’s prisoner of war exchange in a two-part column. Without pulling any punches, Norris had quite a bit to say about the exchange of five top Taliban leaders for U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl.
In his column for Townhall.com, Norris explains that President Obama is misleading the people of the United States by claiming that the war is over and that he did exactly what George Washington would have done regarding the exchange of prisoners for an American.
Chuck focuses on Obama’s statement: “This is what happens at the end of wars. That was true for George Washington; that was true for Abraham Lincoln; that was true for FDR; that’s been true of every combat situation — that at some point, you make sure that you try to get your folks back. And that’s the right thing to do.”
Norris points out in the second part of the column that Washington would never have traded any prisoners of war for any American, including Bergdahl, because Washington made it a policy to never trade British soldiers for an American citizen. Washington believed that this move would have caused the British to take on more American citizens as prisoners for ransom.
Chuck also mentioned that Washington never traded prisoners of war until the war was officially over, and he argued that Obama’s belief that the war in Afghanistan is at an end is just one of many “grievous errors in judgment.”
Chuck Norris accuses Obama of undermining the U.S. military with the exchange of the Taliban leaders for Bergdahl, a soldier who reportedly went AWOL while in Afghanistan conducting counterinsurgency operations with his unit.
According to NBC News, Bergdahl is reportedly in Texas, where he is now able to see media coverage about him after a five-year-long blackout.
Although Norris admits that he can understand Bergdahl’s family being elated about having their loved one back home, he insists that Washington would have never rescued Bergdahl, especially for top American enemies.
Chuck Norris further accused the President of putting U.S. military personnel and American citizens at risk and having political ulterior motives for the exchange.
In fact, Norris called the Obama administration a “‘never waste a crisis’-saturated administration” because he suspects the prisoner of war exchange took away from the Veteran’s Affair scandal that the administration has been facing.
Furthermore, Norris claims that the U.S. President believes that the war has been lost in the Middle East.
The crescendo of the powerful attack on Obama came when Chuck Norris wrote, “…Sgt. Bergdahl went AWOL on his post and platoon. But even worse…President Obama just went AWOL as our commander in chief.”
