Jenny McCarthy Proposal Blunder: Donnie Wahlberg Wrote ‘Mary’ Instead Of ‘Marry’
Jenny McCarthy is a Hollywood celebrity who many men wish was still on the market. Sadly for them that’s not the case since McCarthy announced her engagement to Donnie Wahlberg on ABC back in April.
What she didn’t reveal at the time though, was the massive blunder Wahlberg made when his clever marriage proposal idea went horribly wrong.
During an interview on Monday the Modern Family star shared what actually went down with the blundered proposal on Australia’s Jackie O radio show.
We’ll let Jenny’s own words tell the story; you’ll get the picture soon enough:
I was sitting on the couch doing what every girl does saying, ‘Tell me how much you love me,’ when he left the room. He and my son Evan came running back in holding a piece of paper saying ‘Will’
Sounds innocent enough, and so-far-so-good as we all know that the word “Will,” in this kind of situation will most likely be followed by “You Marry Me.”
Then, according to Jenny McCarthy, Donnie and Evan ran out of the room and when they returned they were carrying another piece of paper with the word “You” written on it.
Still, so-far-so-good…
But then Jenny got to the crux of the story when she shared:
(They) Then disappeared and ran back in with another piece of paper that read ‘Mary’, but misspelled it without the second R
With that Donnie donned a T-shirt which had the final simple word on it, “ME,” at which point Jenny revealed she started to cry. (With happiness, not because of the bungled proposal.)
Donnie Wahlberg spoke to Extra about the kind of wedding he and Jenny want:
“We’ll have a small wedding in a really beautiful place and we both want do it right this time. We’ve both been married before and we want to make it special – this is the last wedding,” he said.
So it seems that despite the little “typo” on the word “Marry” Jenny McCarthy has fallen head-over-heels for Wahlberg, and so was able to overlook it completely.
No doubt there will be plenty of news ahead of this celebrity wedding which promises to be one of the biggest Hollywood weddings of the year.
