Bring your seat belt with you when you see The Expendables 3 ! You will need it to hold yourself down. Only this time, The Expendables 3 will be rated PG-13, unlike the R rating for the previous Expendables movies, so you can bring the whole family for a fun time of action-packed entertainment.
For all you lovers of hard-core violence-ridden movies, don’t worry, you won’t be disappointed in The Expendables 3 . It is chock full of all the shoot ’em up scenes you could ever hope to experience. Sylvester Stallone (co-writer of The Expendables 3 ) decided to go with the PG-13 rating to reach the next generation .
While the previous Expendables were very lucrative, raking in over a half a billion worldwide combined, as reported by ScreenRant.com , Stallone recognizes that in order for Expendables 3 to reach the level of success they are hoping for, he needed to expand the audience.
Stallone, who is the lead character in Expendables 3 alongside old-timer Arnold Schwarzenegger, realizes that the two of them can’t bring in the audiences they once could on their own (based on the numbers for Sabotage and Grudge Match).
Stallone spoke about Expendables 3 at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, stating, “We want to reach as many people as possible. It’s very close to an R, believe me, it’s right there. But I think we owe it to the next generation . We thought we’d join that club for a while.”
No need to worry, they are far from alone in this Expendables 3 celebrity mashup of a cast with the likes of Mel Gibson, Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Antonio Banderas, Dolph Lundgren, Ronda Rousey, Kellan Lutz, Kelsey Grammer, Victor Ortiz, and so many more. With this cast, the gusto is in overload, but the language not so much.
The plot of The Expendables 3 has Barney (Stallone) and the rest of the Expendables team come face-to-face with the co-founder of The Expendables, Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson). Barney was forced to kill Stonebanks in the past (or so he thought) when Stonebanks became a dangerous arms trader. Now, back from the dead, Stonebanks’ only mission is to end the team he helped to create — The Expendables.
Barney will not go down without a fight…a bitter fight…an ugly fight. Barney recruits a new era of Expendables team members who are younger, faster and extremely tech-savvy. This vicious mission between the old school guys, and the new brand of Expendables brings an entirely new depth to the word “battle.”
August 15, 2014 is the date to mark on your calendar for the release of The Expendables 3. Get ready for a whole new experience, less cheesy one-liners, an up the ante cast, and action out the yin yang. Bring on The Expendables 3 !!
