It was all supposed to go down at the Met Gala when Jimmy Fallon and Jennifer Lawrence were in cahoots to get Jennifer Lopez to dance with them. On E! Online , the entire picture gets painted for us about how J-Law might have been unintentionally dissed by J-Lo.
Apparently, Jennifer Lawrence thought it would be especially fun to take on Jimmy and J-Lo on the dance floor at the Met Gala while Jennifer Lopez was looking out for Kanye West:
I remember seeing you guys come over, and I remember Jennifer asking, ‘Let’s go out to the dance floor and dance!’ That’s how I remember it. ‘Let’s go dance out there where everybody’s dancing!’” Jennifer Lopez recalls. “And I’m like, ‘Nah, I’m good right here.’ I kind of felt like she was sad. I didn’t mean it like that! I just meant it’s crazy out there.
Jimmy Fallon playfully teased Jennifer Lopez during the interview saying that because of the failed dance-off, Jennifer Lawrence refused to talk to him for months, to which Jennifer Lopez shot back, “I wouldn’t talk to you either. You bailed on the bit!”
Promising to always follow-through, however, Jimmy Fallon asked Jennifer Lopez to make up for that missed opportunity and the two engaged in a saucy dance number. You can see their performance here:
Unfortunately, Jennifer Lawrence was no where to be found during the piece. Oh well, maybe next time.
After the J-Lo/J-Fal dance, Jennifer Lopez took to the stage of the Tonight Show to perform her newly released single “First Love”, she reportedly brought down the house with her moves. During the set, she exclaimed, “Wait a minute! Band, I wanna dance!” and commenced to shimmy and shake her way through the song. At the close of her solo dance number all of J-Lo’s male back-up dancers ‘fainted’ in the wake of her dancing. In response, Jimmy Fallon also passes out to show his appreciation of her prowess.
Her appearance on Jimmy Fallons Tonight Show episode is the culmination of her much talked about World Cup performance and her parody “Tight Pants” which she performed with Fallon. It seems that the 44-year-old mother, singer, dancer, and actress has quite the sense of humor.
In related news, Jennifer Lopez’s album, A.K.A was officially released today and includes singles “I Luh Ya Papi” and the single that she performed during her appearance on the Tonight Show. J-Lo is currently wrapping up her summer tour to promote her new album.
