star actress Freida Pinto stole the limelight at the premiere of 20th Century Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes in Los Angeles Thursday night, arriving in a gorgeous emerald green gown.
In Planet of the Apes “reboot,” Pinto stars along side of James Franco , who plays the role of Will Rodman, a scientist performing tests on primates in an attempt to discover a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
While Pinto, 26, has admittedly never seen the 1968 original “Apes” film nor its 2001 remake by Tim Burton, she did prepare for her primatologist role in the upcoming movie by immersing herself in documentaries about chimpanzees, research and animal testing.
At the “Apes” premiere, Pinto was more than satisfied with the film, calling it revolutionary.
“I think this is one of few films that really give [the apes] a voice as well,” Freida explained in a recent interview with MTV News. “‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ gives them a voice in a very revolutionary way.”
‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’ is scheduled to hit movie theaters on August 5th.
