Tracy Morgan Injured In Fatal Crash

30 Rock Actor Tracy Morgan has been left fighting for his life after a collision with a truck on the New Jersey Turnpike on Saturday.

Tracy Morgan and his group were travelling back to New York City around 1am on Saturday after a show in Delaware when a Wal-Mart truck driver fell asleep at the wheel. The truck rear-ended and flipped the 2012 Mercedes Benz Sprinter limo bus that Tracy Morgan and his entourage were riding in and caused a fatal six-car pile up.

New Jersey State Police Sgt Gregory Williams said truck driver, Kevin Roper, failed to notice Tracy Morgan’s Mercedes and the slow traffic ahead of him and swerved last minute to try and avoid a crash near Cranbury Township. Instead, his 18 Wheeler ploughed into the back of the limo carrying Tracy Morgan, which caused a chain reaction crash with a second tractor- trailer, an SUV and two cars. Kevin Roper has been charged with death by auto and four counts of assault by auto.

James McNair, Tracy Morgan’s long time friend and writing partner, died at the scene, whilst Tracy Morgan’s assistant Jeffrey Millea and comedian Ardie Fuqua are also in a critical condition. Comedian Harris Stanton was treated and released from hospital whilst two others riding in the limo, including the chauffeur, were unharmed.

Tracy Morgan and Jeffrey Millea were flown to Robert Wood Johnson University hospital in New Brunswick with critical injuries.

Megan Wollover, Tracy Morgan’s fiancé, and their 11-month old daughter usually travel with Tracy Morgan on comedian tours but were not in the limo at the time of the accident. Christine Wollover, Tracy Morgan’s mother in-law to be told New York Daily News that she was ‘devastated…I couldn’t believe it. I was just hoping and praying that my daughter and the baby weren’t in the car.’

Tracy Morgan’s family have been left traumatized by the event, ex-wife Sabina Morgan, has revealed ‘he’s not in good shape’, reportedly in a critical but stable condition with a broken leg among other injuries. ‘We’re just still vigilant with prayer…they’re (our children) not holding up well at all. Tracy Morgan has three children with Sabina Morgan. Tracy Morgan’s publicist Lewis Kay stated that Tracy Morgan is ‘receiving excellent care. We don’t anticipate much of a change in his condition today.’

Tracy Morgan is unconscious in hospital but doctors are anticipating he will recover.
