Beauty Tips From Steven Tyler: Does Liv Tyler Use Her Father’s Beauty Secrets?

Beauty tips are easy to come by, especially if a person starts out in the modeling and acting business as a teenager. Liv Tyler has shown the world that she has learned many beauty tips from her time as a model and actor. However, did she learn any of her beauty secrets from her father and Aerosmith’s lead singer, Steven Tyler?

Lipstick mentions that the gorgeous 36-year-old explained that as a child, her father’s beauty tips were not to be taken seriously, especially when it came to styling her own hair.

Liv said, “In the 90s, when I was a kid, my dad was always telling me I needed a little body in my hair. [His process was to] use two blow-dryers at the same time, shake out his hair, then flip it up—and I was like, “Daddy, I don’t want my hair like that!” I liked my hair flat, silky, and tucked behind my ears.”

For decades, Steven Tyler was known for his dark long-flowing wavy mane of hair that seemed to have a life of its own. GQ reports that it was only until 2007 that Steven decided to take a different approach to his beauty regimen and had his hair highlighted blonde, but the mane remained pretty much unchanged otherwise.

It is likely that Liv took her beauty tips from her mother, Bebe Buell. Bebe was a fashion model and was once Playboy magazine’s Playmate of the Month.

According to Marie Claire, Liv stated that she mixes and matches her skincare products. She also said, “My mum taught me at a very young age to take really good care of my skin.”

However, just recently Liv has found that her father really does have valuable beauty tips for skincare that she had not realized previously.

She revealed, “Today when I go and stay with him, I always have to raid his cupboards because he’s got all the best creams. He’s, like, a major moisturizer. He’ll cover his whole body in oil and moisturizer and walk around the house in a pair of shorts. Me, I do face masks all the time. Even when I’m walking around the house.”

Liv has definitely not taken her father’s advice for fashion. While she enjoys seeing him put his wardrobe together, she steers clear of his fashion advice.

“It has always been fun to watch him get dressed. But I definitely don’t think of him when I’m getting dressed,” Liv has mentioned.

Steven Tyler may not be who many people think of when they want to turn to a celebrity for beauty tips, but his daughter, a beauty and style icon, nods her head in his direction for at least his skincare beauty tips.
