Fast and Furious 7 Updates: The Rock Is ‘Digitally’ Dead, While Cody Walker Will Be Seen In Subsequent Sequels
The Fast and Furious series has always been highly popular with the speed-fanatics and adrenaline junkies. Though everybody will surely miss Paul Walker, there is good news for the film franchise as well as its die-hard fans.
Cody Walker, brother of the late film star Paul Walker, could appear in future roles for the Fast and Furious franchise. He recently stepped in to finish his brother’s remaining scenes in the seventh installment. Fast and Furious 7 contains multiple scenes featuring Cody Walker instead of Paul Walker.
When Paul Walker died in an unfortunate car crash late last year, Fast and Furious 7 was still in production. Hence apart from the initial shock, there was still the issue of the unfinished movie that had to be dealt with. Couple this with the fact that movie scenes are never shot in the sequence that they appear in the final release, the production unit was in a fix. However, Paul and Cody’s father Paul Walker Sr., 68, convinced the latter to step in Paul Jr.’s shoes and complete the movie, reported Breathe Cast.
The fact that the Walker brothers (the third is named Caleb), look remarkably similar has only added to the sweet news. If that’s not all, Cody Walker could very well appear in subsequent Fast and Furious movies as well. Apparently, other members from the Fast and Furious franchise, Tyrese, Ludacris and Vin Diesel were extremely helpful as the Walker brothers were understandably wary of filing Paul’s shoes.
In related news, Fast and Furious 7 lead star Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson was the victim of an internet hoax that claimed the actor died on the sets of the movie in New Zealand, reported The Independent. The bogus report was, created by Global Associated News, a website responsible for some of the most outlandish fake celebrity deaths. The platform is notorious for generating such fake reports, but unfortunately, the Social Media almost always goes bonkers and people help the fake news go viral.
The ‘official’ wordings of the report were:
“Actor Dwayne Johnson died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning – June 10, 2014. Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set.”
Fortunately, as soon as The Rock got wind of the fake news the Fast and Furious star quickly dispelled it by posting pictures of him intensely working out.
