Three Men Fatally Shot A Teenager In Taco Bell Parking Lot, Police Yet To ID The Perps
A young man was fatally shot in the parking lot of a Taco Bell last week. The incident happened in Aurora, Colorado. Though the police have been able to ascertain the identity of the victim, they appear nowhere close to identifying the perpetrators.
Police officials from the Aurora Colorado police precinct has identified the victim as 19-year-old Mark Chalfant. According to reports, Mark was in some sort of altercation with three men in the parking lot of the Taco Bell at 3554 South Tower Road, near East Hampden Avenue, around midnight on June 4.
Though the reason for the argument is not clearly known, “At some point during the altercation shots were fired, which struck the victim” confirmed the police. After shooting Mark, the trio ran off, leaving the victim lying in the Taco Bell parking lot.
Locals who heard the gun-shots, quickly alerted emergency officials, who in turn responded by sending an ambulance who whisked Mark away to the nearby hospital. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries en-route, reported The Denver Channel.
Though the locals did manage to alert emergency medical response team, they were unable to correctly describe the perpetrators, shared the Aurora Police, “We only have a limited description of the suspects. Witnesses said the three were white men in their late teens to early 20s and all were wearing light-colored shorts. Two were seen wearing dark colored T-shirts and the other was possibly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on the front,” reported 9News.
It is truly unfortunate to have one’s life end so abruptly, said one of the locals. There wasn’t much movement in the Taco Bell’s parking lot. Interestingly, there were no cars too, reported some of the locals. Suddenly we heard gun-shots and then saw three young men dashing across Taco Bell’s parking lot. That’s when we sensed something was wrong and contacted the emergency response number.
Apparently, Mark Chalfant was dining in Taco Bell, when the three men called him out. The four were talking amicably, when the altercation slowly began and as it grew one of them pulled out a gun and fired three shots. Though eye-witnesses haven’t been able to verify, the shots were apparently fired from a close range and Mark immediately fell to the ground, while the trio fled the scene. The Aurora Police have urged tipsters to come forth with information assuring complete anonymity.
The local crime reporting number is 303-739-6710. Though, those who wish to remain anonymous can call metro Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP (7867).
