Ariana Grande Finds Her Name On Beyonce’s June Playlist

Ariana Grande apparently has a fan in Beyonce.

The Sam & Cat star is definitely one of the hottest artists on the planet right now. “Problem,” her collaboration with rapper Iggy Azalea, is one of the biggest songs of the year. Weeks after the single became available to the masses, Grande watched as it sold over a million copies. Chances are she’s riding on cloud nine right about now.

According to the International Business Times, Ariana Grande recently discovered that her latest song made its way onto Beyonce’s summer playlist. Since Queen Bee’s birthday is in June, she decided to shed some light on other musicians who were also born this month. Grande is one of several artists who made the cut.

“Enjoy this playlist in celebration of some of the great musical talents born in the month of June!” she wrote on her official website.

In addition to Ariana Grande, the singer gave some love to such artists as Kendrick Lamar, Prince, Kanye West, and Solange Knowles. Iggy Azalea had the distinction of appearing twice on the list; Beyonce also included her hit single “Fancy” featuring Charli XCX. People may have their issues with the rapper, but it’s clear she’s getting plenty of attention at the moment.

Although Ariana was popular before the release of latest single, it’s clear that a lot more people are now familiar with her work. Billboard reports that the song has enjoyed over 13 million streams in the US, 63 percent of which are coming from her VEVO account on YouTube. That number will likely grow by leaps and bounds now that the tune received Queen Bee’s seal of approval.

The publication also points out that Azalea and Ariana Grande are enjoying quite a boost in popularity on social media. Billboard explains:

“The release of the “Problem” music video also has an effect on [Ariana] Grande and Azalea’s standings on the Social 50. Grande moves 8-2, her highest standing since December 2013, with a 110 percent increase in mentions on Twitter and a 34 percent increase in Tweets from her account. Azalea moves 10-5, her second visit to the top 10, with a 30 percent rise in points as she adds 568,000 new fans to her online audience across Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.”
