From Batman To Birdman: Michael Keaton Plays Has-Been Superhero Birdman (Video)
Michael Keaton finds his way out of his retirement nest to star in Birdman. Alejandro González Iñárritu (21 Grams, Babel) directs this new black comedy that has “an amusingly meta plot” per Vanity Fair.
Keaton fans have waited years to see him back on the big screen in a role as great as this. It’s been decades since he portrayed another flying hero – Batman. We wonder how Birdman will compare. The Birdman costume seems a bit familiar.
Birdman has Michael Keaton in the lead role playing a has-been movie star who became famous portraying the iconic superhero Birdman on the big screen. Keaton’s character attempts to rekindle his fame and success by mounting a Broadway play, per Huffington Post. Throughout the film, Keaton’s character struggles to overcome his ego and issues with his family, as well.
Birdman offers many perks in addition to seeing Keaton back as a leading man — he’s back as a leading man strutting through Time Square in his tighty-whities. Yep, that should sell some tickets. And if that isn’t enough to have you pulling out your wallet to order tickets, co-star Edward Norton is also seen in his teeny-tiny-colorful-undies as an added bonus. Birdman, here we come.
The cast in Birdman is quite the ensemble, which, in addition to Michael Keaton and Edward Norton, includes, Naomi Watts, Emma Stone, Zach Galifianakis, and Amy Ryan as reported by GossipCop.com.
