‘Dumb And Dumber To’ Trailer Drops, And It’s Awesome
Dumb and Dumber To trailer anticipation is finally at an end after years of frustration from loyal fans like ourselves.
On Tuesday night’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, the two minute, 40 second clip arrived, and it was worth every one of the 20 years that it took to get here.
Those of you still reeling from 2003’s heinous prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd will be glad to see the original actors have returned.
But then, anyone who’s been following the development already knew that. The real question was this: could Harry (Jeff Daniels) and Lloyd (Jim Carrey) still bring it after two decades?
The first shot of Carrey in mountain man facial outgrowth answers that question with a resounding yes.
The setup: Lloyd Christmas has been in deep mourning at a psychiatric hospital since saving the day and losing the love of his life at the end of the first film.
Harry comes to visit and gets a typical surprise from his catatonic friend. From there, things get funnier and funnier until we’re left hoping for a third film before ever actually seeing this one.
While the Dumb and Dumber To trailer may have packed all the laughs into its 160 seconds, we have every right to be hopeful for this one.
Bobby and Peter Farrelly (The Farrelly Brothers) were back in top form after a string of misses with 2012’s The Three Stooges. That film featured some inspired casting in breathing new life into the classic comedy trio, and was just the creative spark needed to get the funny men back in the groove.
Returning to what is probably their greatest work — Dumb and Dumber — was long rumored, but never happened. While they were going through their decade-long slump, it probably wouldn’t have worked out as well as it appears to here.
But don’t take our word for it. See for yourself:

Dumb and Dumber To hits theaters on November 14, just in time for this Thanksgiving. Aside from getting back the original duo, the film will also star Kathleen Turner, Angela Kerecz, Laurie Holden, and Rob Riggle.
