Halle Berry Ordered To Make Huge Child Support Payment To Ex Gabriel Aubry
Halle Berry will have to pay ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry $16,000 per month to support their daughter, a judge ruled this week.
Berry and her ex-boyfriend had been locked in a court battle over child support payments for their 6-year-old daughter, Nahla. On Monday, Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon ruled that Halle must pay the equivalent of $200,000 per year, and also must pay for the girl’s tuition. Gabriel and Halle will split the cost of her health care expenses.
The judge also ruled that Halle Berry must make two retroactive payments — one for $115,000 and another for $300,000 — to cover the cost of Aubrey’s attorneys during the dispute.
While she finished up her court battle for one child, Halle Berry has been busy taking care of another child. The 47-year-old actress recently gave birth to miracle baby, Maceo.
Berry said the pregnancy was a surprise in more ways than one.
“I didn’t think it was possible at my age,” Berry said. “They call it a ‘geriatric pregnancy.’ ”
Halle Berry said that she was “kind of premenopausal,” adding, “to have this happen was a huge.”
The new addition to the family may have been a surprise, but it was just what Nahla was wishing for.
“She prayed and prayed for him for like a year and a half for a baby and a bunk bed and she got both of those things,” Berry told Ellen DeGeneres.
Nahla has been pretty hands-on with her new brother, Berry added.
“He’s like one of her dollies that came to life,” the actress said. “You know and all she wants to do is change his clothes. Like she’ll purposely throw something on his shirt and say, ‘Oh mommy, he’s got to change his shirt. He has a mess on him!’ She just likes to change his clothes, change his diapers.”
In addition to her huge child support payments, Halle Berry lost another battle in the custody case over Nahla. A judge had previously blocked her from moving to France with her daughter.
