Hillary Clinton called the Republican-led investigation of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi “minor league ball” for a nation of the United States’ size and stature. Hillary suggested that Republican criticism of her handling of the Benghazi attack gives her an additional reason to run for president in 2016, according to an AP report. Clinton went so far as to say the reaction to her handling – or more accurately, failure to handle – of Benghazi gives her “more of a reason to run.”
Hillary hasn’t officially said whether she is going to run for president in 2016, but supporters are convinced she will run and be the frontrunner in the Democratic primaries once they get underway. There’s just no way that her ego will allow her to pass up the chance to become the first female president of the United States.
There’s no way anyone with the hubris to suggest that sitting back and doing nothing — nothing as Secretary of State while a U.S. Consulate was under attack, resulting in the death of four Americans– is going to believe she can possibly be beaten.
According to a report in Politico , Hillary’s exact quote (in an interview with Diane Sawyer) was:
“Actually, it’s more of a reason to run, because I do not believe our great country should be playing minor league ball, we ought to be in the majors.”
Predictably, the media fawned all over her, continuing the baseball metaphor by saying she “hit it out of the park” with that comment.

Hillary didn’t indicate what she thought entailed Major League ball. If four Americans dying on foreign soil represents the minor leagues, it boggles the mind to think about what the Major Leagues are like. Unfortunately, the average reporter doesn’t ask Hillary Clinton those kinds of questions. Let’s hope we never find out.
Like many presidential hopefuls – including her predecessor, who derailed what most considered her shoe-in candidacy in 2008 – Hillary Clinton is releasing a book. Clinton’s memoir is entitled Hard Choices. Given her inaction and the flippancy with which she dismisses the congressional probe into her handling of the Benghazi attack, one can’t help but wonder how well equipped she is to handle the hard choices the President of the United States has to make on a daily basis. Will Hillary be able to make hard decisions? Does she even care?
It’s a truly scary prospect to consider that we might have a president who fails to make hard decisions when Americans are in harm’s way, asks “What difference does it make?” when referring to the deaths of Americans in a U.S. Consulate, and then suggests that Congress is playing “minor league ball” for investigating the decisions – or more accurately, lack of decisions – made by Hillary Clinton and Co. while Americans were being killed in Benghazi.
Our venerable constitutional Republic is in serious trouble, both at home and abroad. For too long now, the nation’s voters have chosen our Presidents based on image and star power, instead of honesty, ethics and ability. America will continue to descend into the abyss until we demand integrity and loyalty from our leaders. Make no mistake, Hillary “minor leagues” Clinton is not the solution, she is part of the problem.
