Cristiano Ronaldo’s presence at the 2014 World Cup is in serious jeopardy after a Ghanaian witch doctor revealed he has given the soccer star an “incurable injury.”
Nana Kwaku Bonsam has claimed that he has put a curse on the soccer legend in order to stop him from playing against Ghana in the competition.
Bonsam opened up about his ploy, stating, “I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him. I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam.”
Bonsam admitted that he has been working on Ronaldo’s injury for quite some time.
“I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World Cup or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out through injury” he declared. “This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual.”
He even warned that he will continue to cause pain and injury to Ronaldo throughout the week, as he noted, “Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else.”
Nana Kwaku is believed to be Ghana’s most influential witch doctor, and his name even translates as “Devil of Wednesday.” Ghana will play Portugal on 26 June in Brasilia in the final match of Group G, and before then they will contest Germany and the USA.
While most soccer fans will find Bonsam’s claims ludicrous, Ronaldo is still struggling to overcome his injury and the Portugese Football Federation admitted on Wednesday he is suffering from tendinosis in the patella tendon.
Previously it had been revealed that the 29-year-old had been suffering from a thigh issue, but this knee injury has only exacerbated concerns over his fitness as it now appears that Ronaldo is seriously struggling to be fit for Portugal’s opener against Germany on June 16.
On Tuesday , Cristiano trained on grass for the very first time while Portugal’s manager, Paulo Bento, is hoping that he might make a brief appearance during his team’s game with Mexico in New York on Friday. However if Bonsam gets his way it looks as though Ronaldo could be out for the foreseeable future at least.
