Nicki Minaj Fantasizes About Marrying Drake
Nicki Minaj turned heads at Summer Jam but not for her performance at the festival, but rather for her recent comments about good friend and rumored fling Drake. Over the years both Drake and Nicki have flirted with each other in the media, paying compliments and at other times peppering interviews with comments that suggest they’re more than friendly.
During a recent interview Minaj told i-D albeit jokingly that she has plans to marry Drake.
“One day I will run away with Drake and get married, but right now it’s just a fantasy.”
While Minaj seemed to be joking, others are convinced that this is a sign that their friendship runs deep, and is more than what meets the eye.

Just recently Minaj posted an Instagram photo that set off a firestorm of rumors about her relationship status to her longtime boyfriend Safaree Samuels. Minaj posted a message that stated she’s “single and ready to mingle.” This would make sense because it’s been some time since Minaj has been photographed with her longtime boyfriend.
In addition, Drake has been very open about his love and respect for Nicki Minaj from early on. In 2010 Drake told MTV about his relationship with Minaj:
“Me and Nicki have a really playful relationship. When I was on tour … I saw Nicki for the first time and, like, literally fell in love. She had this snap-back hat on that said ‘Minaj.’ She used to wear that every single day. She was like a theater student and she was so cold at rapping.”

Back at Summer Jam, Drake was Nicki’s surprise guest during her set. The two got down and danced with each other on stage. During the set Minaj jumped into Drake’s arms and wrapped herself around him a la The Notebook. As some may know, rumors swirled that Rihanna and Drake recently ended their on-again-off-again relationship, and apparently the two can’t stand each other.
Summer Jam was the first time they were in the same room together since outlets started to report that the two had split. Perhaps Minaj’s set was a way to make a statement to Rihanna’s camp? We may never get the whole story from this tricky triangle.
