Bill And Giuliana Rancic Devastated After Surrogate Miscarried Their Second Baby
Giuliana and Bill Rancic were devastated to find out that their surrogate had a miscarriage. The reality television stars were hoping to have another baby this year but things have not been easy. According to She Knows, the two planned to chronicle their lives as they were preparing for the second child on the new season of Giuliana and Bill but they encountered a wall that they didn’t expect to hit.
Bill explained:
“This whole season on ‘Giuliana and Bill’ we’ve been trying to have another baby. Unfortunately our surrogate Delphine who we love very much had a miscarriage… “She was about nine weeks pregnant. We were pretty close to getting into the safe zone… It’s something that we didn’t see coming. We were devastated.”
Bill Rancic and his wife have been devastated by such heartbreaking news in the past. Giuliana also suffered a miscarriage when the two were trying for their first child. When they decided to try to have a baby via surrogate, they were overjoyed with news that their first baby was on his way. When he was born, they were elated that their boy was healthy — and that they were parents. While things haven’t been easy with a baby in the house, the Rancics felt like they wanted to welcome another child into their family.
In the fall, Giuliana Rancic opened up about wanting to have another baby. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, the couple spoke with their surrogate and asked if she would carry their second child. Delphine was up for the task, but this time she lost the baby.
Though devastated, the Rancics have said that they still want to have a second child. Rancic told People Magazine:
“We’re fighters. Hopefully we’re going to have good news and Delphine will be on board one more time. We’ve had to battle it out and that’s something that we’re going to continue to do.”
Giuliana and Bill Rancic’s surrogate is actually a gestational carrier. This means that one of Giuliana’s eggs is used in the implantation process. Their children, therefore, are 100 percent biological and carry genes from both parents. Their son Duke, 21 months, has traits of both his mom and his dad and his looks also reflect that. The couple hopes to have another baby within the next year or two.
If Delphine agrees to carry the Rancics’ baby again, many pray that the little one will make it to term and be healthy.
