‘Duck Dynasty’: Phil Robertson Calls Obama And The Democrats ‘Evil’
Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson is certainly known for making controversial statements, but now he has entered the political arena by openly listing the agenda of President Obama and the Democrats as “evil.”
In a related report by The Inquisitr, the Duck Commander family is apparently being credited for making long beards the latest fashion statement. The family is so popular that people are even naming babies after Jase Robertson and Uncle Si plans on releasing a music album.
Of course, not everyone is a big fan of the Duck Dynasty family and especially Phil Robertson. When the patriarch gave a Bible teaching about homosexuality during a church service some people were offended and called it a “homophobic rant.” The LGBT community even organized a walkout during a commencement speech given at a university.
This past Thursday Phil was invited to give a speech before thousands of people at the Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans. He even joked about the invite, saying, “I guess the GOP may be more desperate than I thought to call somebody like me.” He even had some harsh words to say for both parties, claiming that the problem with Republicans was that they were not following God:
“GOP, you can’t be right for America if you’re wrong with God. You want to turn the Republican Party around? Get Godly.”
Of course, Phil was even more critical of President Obama and the agenda coming out of the White House:
“We’re up against evil like I’ve never seen in my life. I’m sitting there and I’m thinking, ‘What’s coming out of the White House?’ The only thing I can tell you folks is it’s just downright embarrassing.”
Most of Phil’s speech was in regards to religion in politics, and the Duck Commander believes the current version of the separation of church and state is a lie. To support his viewpoint, he referenced prayers written by John Adams and George Washington and the 1983 resolution passed by both houses of Congress naming that year the “National Year of the Bible.”
While Phil is mostly known for his comments regarding homosexuality, some people also call him a racist because he said in the GQ interview that he does not personally recall seeing the racial persecution caused by segregation when he was growing up. Robertson decided to bring up the issue of race at the GOP convention, saying that a person’s skin color has nothing to do with their character:
“There’s one race on this planet, and it’s called the human race. Therefore you have no right to color-code anyone. We’re all the same family.”
What do you think about Phil Robertson’s comments regarding President Obama? Do you want to see the Duck Dynasty family more or less involved in political issues?
