Ed Sheeran, who once gave away the fruits of his songwriting skill to other artists, has started working alongside musicians in the studio. Sheeran plans to work on Jessie Ware’s new album with her in the recording space, contributing the talent that has recently skyrocketed him to fame and even earned him a spot on The Fault In Our Stars film soundtrack.
Digital Spy reported that Ed will contribute material for Ware’s upcoming second album, the followup to her 2012 record Devotion . The new LP will be released sometime next year.

In an interview with the Daily Star , Sheeran explained that he wants to move away from selling his music and move towards collaboration. Ed said, “I’ve stopped giving away songs now, I’m just going in with people to write songs because I find then it’s a lot easier to let songs go.”
It seems Jessie Ware isn’t the only artist getting the privilege of Sheeran’s skill. Ed has also been working with Usher and Hillary Duff. He told the Daily Star , “I did one for Usher the other day, one for Jessie Ware and one with Hilary Duff.” Ed has also expressed interest in collaborating with Timbaland; “We talked through doing something on this album but we never got round to it, so I’d like to go back in with Timbaland.”
But Sheeran hasn’t been neglecting his own art. Ed’s been building up a track list of songs for his sophomore record x , or Multiply , which will be released worldwide June 23. “It was meant to come out October 2012 but I felt I had so much to live up to with the first one that I wanted to give it a lot of time and to write the right songs for it,” Sheeran explained in the interview.
Sheeran recently performed a song off the new album for the first time titled “Thinking Out Loud.”
Releasing new material is not the only way Ed Sheeran is celebrating his upcoming album. Ed will also be holding an album release party for x at Clear Channel’s IHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles on June 17. The event will be hosted by Mario Lopez and sponsored by Pepsi. Sheeran will be performing songs live and participating in a question and answer session. Find out more at Billboard .
