The new Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark trailer is here to show us “more than meets the eye,” once again. The game franchise is one of the most successful and anticipated of all toy and comic book tie-ins, much like its silver screen counterpart. Every new Transformers game gives us something different, such as a world that literally transforms around us, while Michael Bay’s live action take on it seems to be doing the same thing over and over.
Heavily inspired by the movies, this game features robot models which appear to have come straight from the big screen, but still with a little bit of that neon Cybertron charm that the games have thrown in for a few years now.
Like before, Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark seems to have you playing in a third person perspective. This probably helps to show off the character you chose, if there is any choice involved. Previous Transformers titles have been linear shooters, which forced the gamer to play as a certain character at different times. While it still gave you a variety of gameplay styles, it didn’t give you a choice of characters.

The title could indicate a special power source that Megatron is after this time, turning Earth into a war zone while Optimus Prime and the boys set out to stop him. Always thinking of the innocent, Optimus Prime starts out the video stating that the humans never asked for “our war.” He tells his fellow Autobots to prepare themselves as we see footage of battle once again inspired by the movies.
Each of the Autobots apparently has a gunner vehicle mode, an idea used in Dark of the Moon , so we might get a taste of Twisted Metal style combat if we don’t just run in using robot mode. By the end, it appears we might get the chance to fight Bruticus, the amalgamation titan made from a collection of war-type vehicles.
The Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark release date is set for June 24. Does the new Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark trailer get you excited for the upcoming game?
