Sofia Vergara Splits With Fiance Nick Loeb For The Second Time

Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb are off again.

The couple, who split once before but got back together and were then engaged, have once again decided to call off the relationship. The Modern Family actress announced the news on Friday via her Twitter and WhoSay accounts.

Vergara said that the relationship fell victim to bad timing, with both of them working busy and often opposite schedules.

“Not that anyone should care, but in order to not give the press the chance to invent crazy and hurtful drama, I prefer to tell my fans personally that Nick and I have decided to be apart,” the 41-year-old wrote.

“We have been having too many problems with figuring out how to spend time together and because of my work and now his, its been getting worse and worse. Not fun anymore,” she continued. “We are still very close but we believe it’s the best thing for us right now.”

Sofia Vergara first hooked up with Loeb in 2010. The couple dated for two years before breaking up in May 2012, but eventually got back together. On Sofia’s 40th birthday in Mexico they got engaged.

It wasn’t that long ago that the couple was talking about the possibility of having a child together. Sofia talked last year about her decision to freeze her eggs.

“My doctor had told me, ‘We have a small window.’ I said, ‘That’s so rude!’ I already have a kid, so I never thought I would need to do that,” she said in an interview with Cosmopolitan. “But I will have to use a surrogate, because I had thyroid cancer and lots of radiation. I don’t want to wait forever, but not yet, because I’m working like an animal.”

But there were signs of trouble for Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb. Last year it was reported that the couple had gone into counseling together, the result of an allegedly fiery fight they had in a Miami nightclub in the early morning hours on New Year’s Day.

A source close to Vergara said they wanted to shore up their relationship before getting married:

“[Vergara] decided they needed professional help before she would walk down the aisle… They had their first session over the phone — and so far, so good!”

Judging by the fact that Sofia Vergara and Nick Loeb have now split for the second time, the rest apparently didn’t go so well.
