Jase Robertson Of Duck Dynasty Was A Virgin On Wedding Night

Jase Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame was a virgin when he married Missy. The affable Duck Dynasty star was 20 years old at the time.

Jase Robertson shared the fact that he and wife Missy were both virgins on their wedding night in an interview with Fox411. Among other things, the Duck Dynasty revealed that it sometimes made his dating life difficult, but when asked if that generally made him more desirable to girls, he said:

“I think in a way it kind of did. They viewed it as a sign of strength. My wife in particular, she really loved the idea that she felt secure with me, like I had a direction I was taking. I didn’t sugarcoat anything. I said, ‘I’m a hunter, I’m a fisherman, I’m gone weeks at a time. I’m just laying this out. But I will take care of you and I will treat you with respect and I want to wait till I get married,’ and I would share my faith with them. Missy was the first girl that loved that. She was like, ‘Ok this is awesome.'”

Jase also admits that it wasn’t easy to wait until after he slipped the ring on the (then) new Mrs. Robertson’s finger:

“That (waiting to have sex until after marriage) was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my entire life. What I did was when I started dating girls I would quickly tell them on the first date as soon as they got in the car. I’d say, ‘Look I will not treat you inappropriately at any point in our relationship.’ I had a couple get out of the vehicle!”

The news of the Duck Dynasty star’s choice to remain sexually pure until marriage comes on the heels of news of the recent engagement of another reality TV star – Jill Duggar – who has also made her choice to remain a virgin until marriage very public.

Jase Robertson revealed all of this and a lot more about he and Missy’s personal and family life in his recently released book, Good Call: Reflections on Faith, Family, and Fowl according to a report in The Celebrity Cafe.

Jase is careful to tell people that being a virgin when he and Missy Robertson got married didn’t mean that everything always went smoothly in the marriage. In fact, the Duck Dynasty star admits that the first year of marriage was difficult because he and Missy spent much of their time teaching separate Bible studies and didn’t spend enough time together – something he suggests improved once they decided “whatever we do, we’re going to do it together.”
